Jack Skellington:
Jack Skellington is a character from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” that has been cherished since 1993. He has become a very popular classic character over the years and is now a face seen everywhere during the Halloween season.
Painting the Expression:
Painting a pumpkin is a fun alternative to carving them, as it is easier to get the design you want and you don’t have
a huge mess to clean. Of course, you don’t have to follow these steps, and you can go rogue with your design! These steps will tell you how to paint Jack Skellington’s face onto a pumpkin. Plan for any mess you may create.
Step 1.
Pick your pumpkin, it can be any shape, color, or size, as long as you feel you can paint it.
Step 2.
IF YOU BOUGHT A WHITE PUMPKIN SKIP THE FIRST PART OF THIS STEP!! Paint the pumpkin white and sketch the expression with a pencil, the outline with a sharpie.
Step 3.
Paint the expression in whatever color you want to.
Step 4.
Place the pumpkin wherever you feel. You are done painting your pumpkin!
Carving the Expression:
Carving a pumpkin is a challenging and fun activity if you don’t mind getting a little messy. Of course, you don’t have to follow these steps, and you can go rogue with your design! These steps will tell how to carve Jack Skellington’s face into a pumpkin. Be sure to be safe with the knife, as they can be dangerous if used wrongly.
Step 1.
Pick your pumpkin, it can be any shape, color, or size, as long as you feel you
can carve it. (Don’t pick one that is too small, as it will be harder to carve).
Step 2.
Use a pencil to sketch the expression, then go over the pencil lines with a Sharpie.
Step 3.
Lay out a trash bag to prevent a large mess.
Step 4.
BE CAREFUL WITH THIS STEP!! CAREFULLY cut the top of the pumpkin open and scoop out the insides.
Step 5.
BE CAREFUL WITH THIS STEP!! CAREFULLY carve the face into the pumpkin.
Step 6. Put a candle or LED lights inside the pumpkin and place the pumpkin wherever!
Your pumpkin may not look the best, and that’s okay, as mine did not come out as the best either. Be proud of yourself for the pumpkin decoration!
