Strange Conspiracy Theories

Judah Michaud, Journalist

Believe it or not, these are some real conspiracy theories that people believe and live by. Although they may have some logical points, it doesnt change the fact that all of these conspiracy theories come from way out of left field and are pretty far fetched.

For example, “pigeons are Russian spies.” This theory talks about the idea that birds are advanced drones created by the Russian government to spy on Americans’ everyday life and find patterns to maybe assist them in a potential war. This is really far-fetched due to the mass pigeon population around the world being about 400 million. It’s also stated that these “pigeons” charge their lithium-ion batteries on power lines to continue consistent spying that the Russian government does. This theory fails to cover what use the Russian government would have for the average American civilian’s everyday life, given the fact that everyday civilians are not what they are up against.

Bigfoot is probably the most well known “mystery” among this list for being so outlandish and “unrealistic”, yet the one with the most “proof.” Sightings, pictures, stories, you name it they got it, BFRO (Bigfoot Field Research Organization)a research organization that is completely dedicated to researching and proving the existence of Bigfoot. Out of all the conspiracy theories out there, Bigfoot seems to be the one people most want to prove.

“Kanye West is the messiah also known as the second coming of Christ according to the Christian bible.” This one, more than likely, is the most outlandish due to Kanye’s hateful nature and anti-semitism, especially in his recent actions. Whether we are talking about his offensive tweets or his “WHITE LIVES MATTER” T-shirt, this type of behavior should not be tolerated. Based on all of his actions we can all agree that Kanye West is not fit to be the messiah. Last but not least, one of the stronger pieces of evidence is the pure contradiction behind this theory, Kanye himself’s religious beliefs being a devoted & faithful christian. This is contradicting the theory because according to religious beliefs, Believing that YOU are the messiah is blasphemy therefore just making this theory not true.

These theories are just silly examples of human nature, the desperate need for answers, and the joking nature of humans. Although these are mostly made for satirical content some people genuinely believe these theories and spend most of their lifetime trying to prove them right. Why they would rather invest this much time in theories instead of taking things at face value, we may never fully understand.
