#1: Fairy Lights

One great trend that will surely brighten your room is fairy lights. They are super convenient because they are somewhat bright (depending on what kind you get), so they are perfect for reading or even just keeping them on to add some light to your room. They also come in many different colors, bulb shapes, sizes, energy sources (whether you can plug them into an outlet or powered by battery), and they can also have things attached to them. Some of the things that they can come attached with are fabric leaves and flowers, photo clips (super cute to clip Polaroids onto), boards, and more! This is another reason why they are super convenient because they can be used for multiple decor purposes.

#2: Artificial Ivy Garland

Another fun trend that has been popular for a long while is artificial ivy garland. It’s a great filler if you think your room feels bare or is lacking texture. They come in many different colors, sizes, forms, and you can even choose how the base is so it could fit in a nice spot in your room. Ivy is very aesthetically valid because it can fit into many styles and could be added to almost any room and look pleasing.

#3: Wall Collages

A bold trend that could add personality, color, and pop to your room is wall collages. You can make them yourself; this can be done by collecting a pile of magazines, and searching through to find images in them that you’re interested in clipping out. Then, you can glue these on a posterboard or large sheet of thicker paper and tack it on your wall, but if you aren’t a very crafty person, you can also buy them on Etsy or find wall collage kits on Amazon. Wall collages are a great way to express yourself and add an artistic accent to your room, so it is something that is definitely worth adding to your space!

#4: Rugs, Blankets, and Pillows

Another cozy trend that will add some comfort and warmth to your room is to get some rugs, blankets, and pillows. Rugs come in many different shapes, sizes, colors, and patterns, which makes them very compatible with any room and the style choice in it. Some cute examples of rugs would be to get some in neon or bright colors, with aesthetic designs like smiley faces, cow print, flowers, the layered heart, etc. Blankets are very useful for a room in case it gets cold, if you feel like snuggling up, or even just to strategically place on furniture. Like rugs, blankets also come in a great variety of dimensions, sizes, and colors. Pillows are also a great thing to have for your room because they add color to pop to your room. Some ideas for cute decorative pillows to touch up your room would be faux fur pillows, heart shaped pillows, pillows with designs or quotes, bright flower pillows, etc.

#5: Neon Room Lights

And finally, another colorful idea that could spark up your room is neon room lights. These are fun and admirable because all you need to do is put them on the borders of your walls and the ceiling, and you can turn them on and choose which color you would like to set it on. These are also beneficial for learning, according to the Girls Life magazine issue from June 2021. Say, for example, you were studying for your math homework, and you put them on the blue setting. Then, when you would be having the test, and you would be writing with a blue pencil, the little flash of color and the memory tied with it would help you do better on your test. Also, according to the article “Do Some Types of Light Help You Sleep Better?” by Daniel Yetman, the color red is the most helpful for falling asleep, so be sure to set them on red before you snuggle up in bed.

There are also many more decor options that can touch up your space, for those were just the top five. A few of these options include: lava lamps, succulents, mirrors (some people paint on the edges, and others get them in cute shapes or with cheerful frames), hanging lanterns, macrame, spider plants, tapestries, sun catchers, and many more! Hopefully this article was helpful for those who are on the look-out for room ideas and that you could incorporate some in your room!
